Security Best Practices for Autobiographer on iOS

At Autobiographer, we take the privacy and security of your precious memories very seriously. We use state-of-the-art encryption and secure authentication provided by Apple to ensure your data remains safe and confidential. Here are some best practices you can follow to further protect your account and data while using Autobiographer on your iPhone.

Secure Your Apple ID

- Autobiographer uses Apple's secure Sign in with Apple system for account creation and login. The security of your Autobiographer account is tied directly to the security of your Apple ID.

- Use a strong, unique password for your Apple ID. Your password should be at least 8 characters long and include a mix of uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers, and symbols. Avoid using easily guessed words or personal information.

- Enable two-factor authentication (2FA) on your Apple ID. 2FA adds an extra layer of protection by requiring a verification code from one of your trusted devices when signing in. To turn on 2FA, go to Settings > [Your Name] > Password & Security > Two-Factor Authentication.

- Be cautious of phishing attempts. Apple or Autobiographer will never ask for your password via email or messages. Only enter your Apple ID credentials on official Apple or Autobiographer sign-in pages.

Protect Your iPhone

- Keep your iPhone's operating system up to date. Apple regularly releases updates that include important security fixes. Go to Settings > General > Software Update to check for and install the latest version of iOS.

- Use a secure passcode on your iPhone. We recommend using at least a 6-digit passcode, or even better, an alphanumeric passcode. Avoid easy to guess codes like 111111 or 123456. You can set or change your passcode in Settings > Face ID & Passcode.

- Enable Face ID or Touch ID for an added layer of biometric security. These features ensure that even if someone knows your passcode, they can't access your device or Autobiographer app without your face or fingerprint. Set up Face ID or Touch ID in Settings > Face ID & Passcode or Touch ID & Passcode.

- If your iPhone is lost or stolen, act quickly. Use the Find My app to remotely locate, lock, or erase your device. This will prevent unauthorized access to your Autobiographer data. You can access Find My via another Apple device or at icloud.com/find.

Use Autobiographer Securely

- Only sign into Autobiographer on your personal, trusted devices. Avoid signing in on shared or public devices, as you may inadvertently stay logged in and allow others to access your account.

- Check for Autobiographer app updates regularly. In addition to new features, updates often include important security enhancements. You can enable automatic updates or check for updates manually in the App Store.

- If you believe your account has been compromised, change your Apple ID password immediately and contact Autobiographer support for assistance.

Remember, while Autobiographer employs robust security measures on our end, account security is a shared responsibility. By following these best practices, you can do your part to keep your cherished memories and stories safe. If you have any questions or concerns about security, don't hesitate to reach out to our support team.
